The newly designated emergency number, 988serves as a lifeline for individuals in need of immediate assistance to ensure their safety. From warm lines and crisis call lines to mobile teams, facility-based crisis services, crisis respite, and hospitals, these services are dedicated to offering emergency support to individuals experiencing urgent and extreme emotional distress. 

Format: 

Virtual self-paced learning 

Learning Objectives: 

  • Identify the Crisis Continuum of Care and the role of Certified Peer Specialists (CPS) in the field. 

  • Understand the technical and interpersonal skills necessary to work in the field. 

  • Learn about the interaction between CPS and other mental health professionals. 

  • Better understand how CPS can partner with and support those in crisis. 

Target Audience: 

This training is designed for Certified Peer Specialists interested in working in the Crisis Services field. It is also suitable for individuals interested in becoming a Certified Peer Specialist and curious about Crisis Services.
