Grant Eligibility
Recovery Innovations offers residents of California our "Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist Training" (A CalMHSA-approved Peer Support Certification program). Recovery Innovations' Peer Employment Training in California is funded through the California Department of Health Care Access and Information (HCAI), Workforce Education and Training (WET) Peer Personnel Training and Placement Program.
Grants
California residents:
To qualify for Grant-funded training, individuals must:
- Have received services, currently or in the past, for mental health and/or substance use challenges or be a family member/caregiver for someone who experiences those challenges.
- Have proof of high school equivalency that they will submit prior to the deadline. (This can be a diploma or transcripts from a high school or college, or the equivalent.)
- Be willing to fully complete an application and Personal Employment Development Plan (Career Plan) that is completed online.
- Be willing to respond to emails and phone calls from RI Staff regarding their employment and the impact the training has had on their employment. This is for grant reporting purposes.
- Be intending to gain/retain a peer support position within the CA Public Mental Health System (non-Federally funded) within the 6 months following the training.
