Creating and Sustaining Recovery Environments

Description

The ELI Creating a Recovery Environment training is designed to equip Certified Peer Support Specialists (CPSSs) with the knowledge and tools to create environments where individuals feel safe, valued, understood, and empowered to take ownership of their recovery. Utilizing a "recovery environment attitude"—focused on healing, growth, and empowerment—CPSSs can guide their peer partners in creating personal recovery environments that support their recovery journey. Rooted in the belief that recovery is possible, this approach underscores the importance of physical, emotional, and social surroundings in overcoming challenges and achieving sustainable recovery. Through this training, you will learn to sustain a "recovery environment attitude" and support your peer partners in building environments that promote their recovery and success.

Virtual Instructor-led Training (VILT) 

Learning Objectives 

  • Describe the characteristics of recovery environments 

  • Explore how CPSS's can maintain a recovery environment attitude 

  • Identify ways to support peer partners create recovery environments 

  • Brainstorm ideas for creating a recovery environment at work 

Target Audience 

Anyone who is working in the behavioral health field.

Technical Requirements 

Each applicant must have access to an internet-connected computer equipped with a functional webcam, microphone, and speakers that can all remain in use throughout the entirety of training.
